LA MANO DE DIOS

La Mano de Dios was born from the inspiration of several arts. 

Firstly, as can be deduced from the name, it is in honour of the well-known footballer Diego Armando Maradona, who obtained this title after scoring with his hand (in a striking manner) in the quarter-final against England at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. 

Secondly, and as a consequence of the first connection, the second artistic inspiration comes from the cinematographic art of Paolo Sorrentino with the movie “È stata la mano di Dio”, which was filmed in 2021 mostly in Naples, my childhood hometown. 

Lastly, the connection with the world of contemporary art, in particular with the Roman artist who inspired the sculptural form of the jewel, Lorenzo Quinn. 

Hands, as the artist affirms, have the power to love, hate, create, destroy: it all depends on the human being.
